Our Impact
AdaptiveComms’ commitment to environmental responsibility is something we consider of the highest importance, and is a matter that concerns all of us. Here are just a few ways we are focused on helping to protect the planet we all share.

2030 Carbon Neutral Pledge
AdaptiveComms has pledged to be Carbon Neutral by 2030, twenty years ahead of the UK target of being net zero by 2050. We believe this target is entirely achievable by planning and taking action now, and we have already taken steps towards our target.

Renewable Electricity
We believe our consumption of electricity should come from renewable sources, so we ensure we always use energy suppliers that provide clean electricity from sustainable sources such as solar, wind and hydro generated power, without burning fossil fuels.

Reducing Emissions and Conserving Fuel
We are committed to reducing emissions and use of fossil fuels with a plan to convert our fleet over time from diesel to electric vehicles. We have already purchased our first electric vehicle with plans to continue replacing the whole fleet by our carbon-neutral target date of 2030.

Reducing Waste
We are committed to reducing waste wherever we can in our day-to-day business. We have already reduced our use of office paper by 90% having switched many of our procedures over to electronic cloud based systems, and we also recycle as much cardboard, paper and plastic waste as possible.

Ethical Suppliers
In the procurement of the equipment we require to deliver our services, we strive to use suppliers with a similar ethical approach to sustainability of our climate and environment as we have, communicated via their policies and actions.

Using Water Responsibly
We recognize that water is a precious resource for our operations and aim to reduce our water consumption as much as possible. To achieve this we have regular maintenance of our office sinks and bathroom facilities to check for leaks, and we use dishwashers efficiently in kitchen areas.
Targets
“AdaptiveComms has a strong commitment to the environment with ambitious environmental goals for 2030. These goals focus on key areas of our business where we believe we can have a significant, lasting impact and make a positive difference in protecting our planet.”

Carbon Neutral by 2030
AdaptiveComms has pledged to become carbon neutral and reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This is 20 years ahead of the UK target of 2050. We have already commissioned an official carbon neutral report from Liverpool John Moores University and are using it for the basis of our strategy to become carbon neutral, which will involve an investment of around £450,000.
Our strategy for meeting our goal includes:
- Reducing emissions through investment in more efficient technologies and processes, such as upgrading office lighting to efficient LED, replacing diesel vehicles in our fleet with electric ones, and moving to paperless systems.
- Developing working practices that maximise sustainability and reduce emissions such as hybrid home working schemes for staff.
- Developing partnerships with suppliers with similar green targets and sustainability goals, to help reduce the carbon cost of the business we do with other parties.
We will then balance any remaining emissions with investments in high quality, verified emissions reductions (carbon offsetting) from projects around the world that promote improved land management, reforestation, and the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems.
Minimise Emissions
AdaptiveComms aims to reduce its emissions to net-zero by investing in more efficient technologies and practices including:
- Upgrading office lighting to efficient LED.
- Phased replacement of our diesel fleet with electric vehicles.
- Moving to paperless systems and cloud systems for digital contract signing for our customers.
We will then balance any remaining emissions with investments in high quality, verified emissions reductions (carbon offsetting) from projects around the world that promote improved land management, reforestation, and the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems.
Minimise Waste
AdaptiveComms aims to minimise the waste it produces by:
- Becoming as paperless as possible by replacing both internal and external paper-based practices and systems with electronic and cloud platforms for purposes such as quote delivery and contract signing.
- Commitment to a program of recycling, ensuring all recyclable waste materials such as plastics and cardboard are recycled appropriately.
Renewable Electricity
AdaptiveComms has moved its energy supplier to one that provided green renewable electricity. This will always be a priority criteria going forward if we move energy suppliers, and is an important part of achieving our carbon-neutral goal. We feel it is important to ensure all our electricity comes from sustainable renewable sources.
Minimise Water Useage
AdaptiveComms recognize that water is a precious resource for our operations and aim to reduce our water consumption as much as possible by:
- Scheduling regular maintenance of our office sinks and bathroom facilities to check for efficiency and leaks.
- Using dishwashers in our kitchen areas in an efficient way that washes full loads on optimal cleaning cycles wherever possible, to reduce the amount of water used.
