Southport Air Show is an annual air show on Southport Beach that has been going on for over a decade. In summary, audiences far and wide can see flying displays and ground attractions which takes place over a weekend.

The Situation

  • Firstly, the air show were in need of a secure internet from a leased line to a series of points along a 2 mile stretch of the Southport coastline. To explain, this was in order to facilitate the ticket entry for the show.
  • Additionally, a strong and reliable telephony system was crucial so that ground control, air traffic control and staff could communicate.

How Did
We Help?

At this point, AdaptiveComms and Southport Air Show have worked together for the previous successful air shows. As a result, we were reawarded a new contract which meant we would need to continue going above and beyond for the show.

With this purpose in mind, AdaptiveComms knew how and what the ai show needed. For instance, as the air show was an outdoor event, the need for a strong, reliable leased line and communication tools were essential.

We helped:

  • Firstly, we temporarily connected a leased line that we managed to the roof of a Sefton-owned building. This was for the purpose of connecting point-of-sales terminals.
  • At the same time, from the rooftop we set up a transmitter that was used for the connectivity of 12 locations along the coast..
  • Concurrently, we installed cabling across all sites in order to provide stable and reliable connectivity speeds. As a result, broadband speeds were up and productivity across sites improved.
  • Simultaneously, a combination of meshing and setting up a line so site connect to Southport pier. This in turn allowed for multiple locations to hit all the points.
  • At the same time, we added a temporary analogue line extension from another point of the seafront, baling across the coastal road and to shelters on the beach.
  • Lastly, we created a hidden sub-network for the purpose of connecting point of sales terminals.

To conclude, Southport Air Show were soaring into success with another incredible air show weekend – here’s to the next one! !
