Ed Milliband, Leader of the Labour Party?visited?Manchester Metropolitan?University, Centre for Enterprise on Friday 28 March 2014.
Labour leader?Ed Miliband outlined his vision for the country?s small businesses at Manchester Metropolitan University?s renowned hub for enterprise and entrepreneurship.?He saw first-hand the work done by MMU?s Centre for Enterprise?(CfE), which helps small and medium-sized firms achieve success. It has become a powerful driver of the regional economy by supporting businesses through research, training and mentoring.
As an alumini of the University himself (having taken part in MMU?s flagship Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses scheme), Managing Director, James Brayshaw attended the event, where he met Ed Miliband and Chuka Umunna MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. ?Along with other CfE-back entrepreneurs, students and staff, James was keen to learn about Labour?s plans to boost the small business economy in the North West if Labour wins the General election and come to Government in 2015.?Brayshaw said ?I was interested in hearing what Mr Miliband had to say and was pleased to be invited to the event?.
